"I asked around many of the girls in our mum's group for ideas for first time mums - what had they received that was really special? Other than blank stares and a few lotions and potion comments (boring) my good friend mentioned she had received your book and it had really helped.

My 2 best friends are both pregnant with their firsts and are both in rather remote spots with no family and limited friends nearby. I feel awful now thinking that they might go through rough spots in the future with no one close by to cuddle or give good advice. I have just read your book and want to tell you what an inspiration you are! I hope you don't mind me saying this, but having been married to someone who didn't know how to 'get out there and do it' for himself, I am absolutely in awe of you that you are living your dream. Even though I am not breastfeeding at 3am anymore I would have found your book really valuable at 3am when I was at the hospital with my daughter a few weeks ago. Whilst there is so much written about parenting etc, there isn't much acknowledgement out there about how difficult it is transitioning from career / business person to mother.
